Union expands depth and breadth of expertise and suite of services
Clarity Group and The Futures Company have joined forces, a move that strengthens and broadens the expertise and reach of both Chapel Hill, N.C.-based companies.
The coming together of these two organizations brings additional consulting power and data-based constituent insight to Clarity Group's nonprofit consulting practice, while providing The Futures Company with new vertical-industry expertise and proven, dynamic leadership for one of its key divisions.
Craig Wood, who founded Clarity Group in 2006 to serve the strategic consulting needs of nonprofits and faith-based organizations, will step in as Head of The Futures Company's Insights Integration division, a fast-growing operating division that creates actionable database solutions to link proprietary research data with transactional data to deliver ROI and unlock growth.
The partnership, which will be effective Jan. 1, 2013, formalizes a working relationship that began in September with the launch of CLEARview, a suite of products designed specifically for the nonprofit sector that provides insight into consumer values, attitudes and trends.
"The opportunity this union presents for our existing clients, and for the nonprofit sector as a whole, is tremendous," says Wood. "We now have the opportunity to help nonprofits meaningfully connect with current and potential supporters based on cutting edge consumer research and database applications. And I'm excited to leverage Clarity Group's knowledge of the charitable space to help The Futures Company's corporate clients maximize the power and potential of strategic Corporate Social Responsibility practices."
Wood, who rejoins The Futures Company after a six-year hiatus to launch and grow Clarity Group, brings with him over 20 years of experience in data-driven marketing, deep knowledge of the charitable sector and an arsenal of industry connections forged through a robust marketing and consulting career.
"Craig's knowledge of The Futures Company, coupled with his leadership position in the industry, makes him the ideal candidate to expand our Insights Integration division, which we believe is a key engine for our overall corporate growth and profitability strategy," says Kevin Brown, the company's North America CEO.
Wood currently serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation and is on the Board of Directors of the Direct Marketing Association. Prior to founding Clarity Group, he held several leadership positions within Yankelovich, as well as KnowledgeBase Marketing, one of the nation's leading integrated information marketing companies and part of the Y&R/WPP corporate family. He is a recognized authority on leveraging data and consumer insights and is a frequent speaker at customer relationship management, loyalty, database marketing and vertical industry conferences.
Since its inception, Clarity Group has provided consulting services for scores of nonprofits and faith-based organizations, serving as the national relationship management strategy partner for United Way Worldwide and working with more than 110 local United Way affiliates.
"Having had the benefit of Craig's marketing expertise, leadership skills and infectious energy in the past, I'm thrilled about this combination," says Walker Smith, Chairman of The Futures Company. "Not only will he maximize the potential of the Insights Integration division, the addition of Clarity Group provides The Futures Company with a respected entre into a promising new vertical industry."
